Meet Phil

Phil is one of our exceptional progressive podiatrists consistently paving his way to success.

Not only does he operate a practice that pretty much runs with out him, he’s also created his New Graduate Podiatry Program. Phil is passionate about providing graduates the guidance, professional development and mentorship that many podiatrists didn’t receive when first out of university.

Who: Phil Marshman

What: Pioneer Podiatry

Where: Mackay, Qld Australia

When: I started the clinic 11 years ago. I graduated as a podiatrist in 2004.

Why: I have a desire to help people live the lives they want to live, free from foot pain. And a love for training new podiatrists to become awesome at their profession.

The Problem:

I avoided the stuff I hated in the business. I still do. The main challenge I had (and continue to feel, honestly) is a sense of being an imposter.

The Solution:

I soon found out everyone had the same feelings and struggles as me! Still feel like an imposter, I just don’t care as much now. But as a result, I was able to implement a business system that doesn’t need me very much anymore.

The Outcome:

I have seen a 2.5 x revenue growth and now only spend 2 to 3 days at the clinic, that’s it. And the biggest bonus is creating the best team culture I’ve ever seen anywhere in any business or group of people I’ve ever had anything to do with.

The Future:

A little bit more growth and revenue but really just interested in making it run well. And having a lot of fun with the team!

Outside the Practice:

Being a husband and a dad and a goat farmer. Plus a hundred other interests. I need the business to run without me because I’ve got too much other stuff I want to do!

Phil continues to nurture his team to form a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

Between the serious stuff and monkeying around, Phil even got promoted to Top Banana at his practice! : )
